Lucky Me

On Friday it was crazy hair day. You bring one dollar and your craziest hair and the one dollar goes to the cancer society . I'm unlucky.... I never get a certificate. But this time I was lucky and I did get a certificate. But the main thing was that it was out of well over 100 hundred people. I wanted to smile but I didn't. So who made their hair crazy? I think they did do a great job even though they may not have got a certificate.

First aid

On Friday Tamra came from St John to teach us what we would have to do when we found someone who needed help. She said what not to do and what to do. She told us how to bandage, what to say to the person and who to call. We all got a certificate and a bag with a pencil, 2 magnets and some stickers.

Wacky hair everywhere!

On Friday we had wacky hair day to raise money for the Cancer Society. Wild and crazy hair ......completed with spray paint even. All the teachers were done up too. The teachers had awards at the end of the parade for the spikiest hair, most colourful hair, most creative hair, the springiest hair, and a few more. It was fun to see all the wild hair but it's nice to see people back to normal. It was an awesome day.

first aid course

On Friday St John came to Appleby School. We did a first aid course . The instructor lady was called Tamra. We were learning to help people when they were hurt like having an allergic reaction from a bee sting or hypothermia or other stuff. At the end we learnt to help people that have a injury like a broken arm or leg. Our job was to keep our patients calm and to get an adult or ring 111.

Wacky....wackier....wackiest!

Wow! What a great wacky hair day. We were raising money for the cancer society. What we had to do was come to school with wacky hair and bring a gold coin. Some people had balloons and others had coloured hair for their style .We did a parade out on the field and showed off our cool hair. Also at the end of the parade we got some certificates for people who had awesome hair like Bella and Kiera. Bella had slinkies coming out of her head. She says they hurt to put in. Good luck getting them out too!!!!!

Thanks to all the parents for the great turn out to our swimming sports. We were lucky with the weather and all the children worked and tried really hard. Good luck to those who will represent us at the Zone sports day on Monday. Enjoy some photos of the fun!!
