This week is maths week so our main forecast is math. We are all signed up for a maths week site. It is so much fun. What you need to do is to try and get as much money as you can get. On Wednesday there will be an auction at 12:30 where you can bid your money.

Jump Jam

Congratulations to our 'Jump Jam' team who have all worked extremely hard over the last 5 weeks to polish their routine ready to enter it into a national competition. They performed at this week's assembly and I think we could all see the huge progress they have made. Well done girls - you can be very proud of yourselves.

Mistletoe Bay Camp 2010

What an amazing 4 days we had at camp!! We were extremely lucky to have better weather than we had expected and we were able to do all of our scheduled activities. Most of us would claim the highlights to be the dolphins that circled the boat for half an hour in the Sounds, the kayaking, the damper on the beach fires and the camp concert. A special mention must go to the 'Top Chef' dessert competition each night. We ate some wonderful creations courtesy of Jason and Richie. Many, many thanks to the wonderful parents that came with us and worked so hard to make it a great experience for all. Our children were just amazing in their behaviour and in their positive attitudes. Mr L and I were very proud of them all. And my last word goes to Rob, Jason and Richie.... keep practising your 500 card skills. Maybe you can beat Andrea and I next camp!!!!!

Class Councillors

Our class Councillors are Liam and Bella. They were picked by making a speech to tell us what they would do if they were class Councillors and why they would be good class Councillors. Then we had a vote and Liam and Bella had the most votes so they were our new class Councillors. Liam's favourite idea was the pajama disco. Bella's most favourite idea was to put a drinking fountain outside Maungatapu and Wakatu. We hope they enjoy representing our class.

interview with lincoln

Wakatu would like to welcome a new student to our class. Lincoln Haigh has come from Henley School and his sister, Zara, is in Kahurangi. Lincoln's hobbies are fishing, drawing and science. His birthday is may 25th and is nine. He likes this school because the classrooms are bigger ,the playground is cool and there are more computers in this class than the one that he used to be in at Henley. His favourite band is Linkin Park.

Camp preview photos

In week 4 of this term, Wakatu and Maungatapu classes are going to Mistletoe Bay in the Marlborough Sounds for a 4 day camp. Mr Lambie, Mr Avery and I have visited the site and taken these photos for our classes to enjoy. We are going to have a great time in such a beautiful spot.

Biking Fun

Last term Wakatu and Maungatapu classes enjoyed a great day of biking adventures. Not only did we cycle from school to and from Rabbit Island but we spent the day enjoying many of the cycle tracks throughout the forest. With a great BBQ lunch and some fun and games on the beach, a great day was had by all. Enjoy these photos that we took.

Lucky Me

On Friday it was crazy hair day. You bring one dollar and your craziest hair and the one dollar goes to the cancer society . I'm unlucky.... I never get a certificate. But this time I was lucky and I did get a certificate. But the main thing was that it was out of well over 100 hundred people. I wanted to smile but I didn't. So who made their hair crazy? I think they did do a great job even though they may not have got a certificate.

First aid

On Friday Tamra came from St John to teach us what we would have to do when we found someone who needed help. She said what not to do and what to do. She told us how to bandage, what to say to the person and who to call. We all got a certificate and a bag with a pencil, 2 magnets and some stickers.
